Holiday Preparation | Part One

I don’t know if anyone could tell but I’m going on holiday soon *squeee*. My family and I have been planning this holiday for around 6 months and I am so excited. To make sure that I don’t forget anything in my excitement I have designed a countdown and a packing document to make sure that by the time your holiday rolls around you are all ready and waiting to go.

SIX MONTHS BEFORE – Book your holiday, check whether your Passport and EHIC card are still in date. Have a look and make sure that you don’t need any visas or vacinations for where you are going. If you do, make sure to start researching what you need and where you can get them from. Don’t forget travel insurance and transfers each way. Make sure to book your leave with work (if applicable) to save complications later.

THREE MONTHS BEFORE – At this point I start looking at what the average weather is like for where I am going so that I can start to plan, looking for blog posts and look books is especially helpful. I also start to window shop and try and pick a few things up in the sale. I was lucky and managed to pick up a gorgeous playsuit from Boohoo back in February for only £6.00.

ONE MONTH BEFORE – One month before is when all the proper planning begins. What suitcase am I going to use? What is a more accurate weather forecast to check? What do I need to buy? I’ve tried to prepare for this holiday on a bit of a budget – instead of going out and wasting money on clothes that are expensive and are only going to be worn once or twice a year, I have decided to try and get all my clothes relatively cheaply – either from ebay or a charity shop. With only a month to go you will need to decide whether you would like any beauty treatments done. Are you going to get your hair cut before you go? What about a facial or a manicure & pedicure? Have you drawn up your packing list?

Is there anything you think I might have forgotten? How soon do you start planning your holiday?
