Welcome back. Today I thought I would share with you what programmes are on my list to watch.
Lockup: Women in Prison
I only started this Saturday evening and I am already at episode 11. In Lockup: Women in Prison, cameras follow inmates around prisons across America. Despite the name Male and Female prisoners are followed throughout the series. You would like this if: If you have seen Louis Theroux’s Behind Bars.
Based on a true story of the Great Train Robbery, the show follows Ronald (Ronnie) Biggs and his wife Charmian. I watched the entire series of Mrs Biggs in one weekend. It is a fantastic series and if you haven’t seen it then you need to. You would like this if: you like a period drama with a truthful element.
Making a Murderer
The cult classic of 2016. Making a Murderer follows Steven Avery and his nephew Brandon through thier trials for the murder of Teresa Halbach. Season 2 of thier story is due to be released on Netflix at some point this year. Basically you need to see this!
Land Girls follows 4 girls who have joined the Women’s Land Army throughout WW2 based around Birmingham. Although the series is historically inaccurate it makes for perfect light watching. You would like this if: you like a period drama with a truthful element.
Ice Pilots follows Joe McBrian and his airline, Buffalo Airways, based in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories in Canada. At present, there is only season 1 on Netflix but I will be watching the rest of the seasons as soon as I can find them. You would like this if: you like your history and how it can blend with the modern day.
